Thirteen Months Old

Adam is now thirteen months old and biggest change over the last month is Adam's increased understanding of words or phrases. It's amazing how much information he is processing.

Fresh Air

Joe, Adam, and Alex were so excited to get outside for a walk and play in the mud.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We weren't able to find much green in Adam's wardrobe, but we did listen to Irish music today:)

Bubbles

Adam wasn't quite fast enough to catch the bubbles in the wind today, but he sure liked carrying the wand and dipping it into the bottle.

Adam turns ONE!

For Adam's actual birthday, he enjoyed a few of his favorite things...

First, he was treated to a pizza lunch and homeade cookies at Grandma & Grandpa Dynan's house.
Then, he went on a long walk and played outside until it was time for a nap.

At one year old, Adam amazes us each day with everything he is learning.
  • He has 11 teeth, with #12 on the way. Cutting his molars has been hard on him and on us (mostly at night!).
  • Adam loves the freedom of walking & climbing on his own. He is quite steady on his feet.
  • Adam gives high fives, waves goodbye, smacks his lips, and signs "all done".
  • Adam just adores his dog Chase and still says his name frequently. Whenever we read books and see pictures of dogs, they are called Chase too. He also makes sure that Chase is well fed.
  • He really expresses emotions. If he is excited about something, he waves his hands furiously or kicks his legs. He says "Mmmm" over and over when he likes the taste of something. If he is upset, he throws his head back and kicks his legs or whines.
  • He is beginning to hold up objects and ask "What's this?"
  • Understands many words or phrases. For example, if we say "Do you want a cookie", he heads to the pantry.
  • It is so fun to watch him play and interact. He makes car noises when playing with his cars or when he is being pushed around in his new coupe. He also makes vacuum noises and pretends lots of objects are a vacuum. Spatulas are another favorite. He likes to help cook and he likes to swat golf balls around with them too.
  • He has brought so much joy to our family. What was life like without him?!
